When Anat was five years old, she watched Dr. Feldenkrais teach movement lessons in her parents’ living room. He was experimenting with his new ideas and discoveries. She began doing his movement lessons with her dance teacher when she was seven.
In her early 20’s, while studying to become a clinical psychologist, Anat looked for a method that would go beyond “talk therapy.” She wanted to include direct experience of movement, sensation, and awareness of one’s body in the work she was doing. Recalling her childhood experiences with Dr. Feldenkrais’ movement lessons, she looked him up.
In addition to being Anat’s teacher and mentor, Moshe Feldenkrais became Anat’s close friend, as well as colleague. While continuing her graduate studies, Anat traveled the world with Dr. Feldenkrais, teaching with him, and for him, and sharing their work with clients.
