Story of Zoe: A Child with Global Brain Damage

We received this wonderful video from Meredith Summerville and Ben Marcovitz, along with the message below.

Their daughter Zoe suffered global brain damage from a traumatic brain injury as a result of open heart surgery shortly after birth. She has been receiving Anat Baniel Method® (ABM) NeuroMovement® lessons for three years now and has recently worked intensively with ABM NeuroMovement® Practitioner Marcy Lindheimer.

Working with you all taught us so much about how to be Zoe’s parents….

To watch Zoe develop has been – well – so emotionally intense that it’s hard to capture it in words.

From the first visit with you all, she has been so happy. And she is just a marvel of exuberance and interest in learning…and determination. She practices the things she is learning all the time.

Her prognosis was as bleak as I have ever heard.

Now she is in a full inclusion preschool class and is starting to speak in sentences. She knows hundreds of songs. She makes jokes.
