Story of Jonathan: A Boy Diagnosed with Autism

View His Extraordinary Outcomes with Anat Baniel Method® (ABM) NeuroMovement®

This video shows Anat Baniel working with, Jonathan, a 21-month-old boy diagnosed with autism. His mother’s testimonial follows after two weeks of Anat Baniel Method® NeuroMovement® lessons with two other certified Practitioners, Sylvia Shoredike and Neil Sharp.

In addition to making no eye contact, Jonathan was not speaking and he did not respond to his name. He had difficulty eating and refused most foods. When people were around, he tried to hide under furniture. Sitting in his father’s lap, he repeatedly arched his back and threw his head back as if his brain was stuck on an automatic loop unable to do anything else.

Anat Baniel shares: I saw in front of me a brain that was having great difficulty making sense of all the input and stimulation coming in. I began very gently and slowly to move Jonathan’s pelvis and back. In the beginning, he didn’t seem to even notice himself or me.

By the time I lifted one of his legs, a few minutes later, and very gently and slowly moved his foot, all of a sudden Jonathan became very still. He began staring at his own foot, then straight at me, then back at his foot as if feeling it and seeing it for the very first time in his life! Jonathan was coming home to himself.

As ‘small’ a change as it may seem, this was a moment of transformation for Jonathan and the way his brain was working.

After this first session, Jonathan’s parents reported significant changes in his behavior. After two weeks of sessions he was eating much better, beginning to talk, interacting and playing with his brother, and eventually playing with other kids.

After Jonathan’s mother’s testimonial, you will see a short clip of Jonathan working with Anat again six weeks later in a professional training program for ABM NeuroMovement® Practitioners.

It should be noted that not all changes are a dramatic as this. Every child is different. However, it demonstrates the potential of using NeuroMovement and the 9 Essentials, which are based on the science of brain plasticity.
