June 30, 2017 @ 9:00 am - July 4, 2017 @ 12:00 pm
Music Teachers’ Association of California (MTAC) Convention 2017
MTAC hosts the annual State Convention where world-renowned artists and teachers give recitals, lectures, presentations, and master classes. More than 2,000 members, guests, student performers and their families attend this culminating event of the year.
Dr. Condoleezza Rice will give the Keynote Address.
Dr. Rice began formal music lessons at three when her Grandmother Ray noticed her granddaughter’s keen interest in music. In Dr. Rice’s book, Extraordinary, Ordinary People, she recounts: “I don’t remember learning to read music, so today it is like a native language for me. This made it much easier to master sight-reading, something that I do well to this day.”
